Maveon today announced The Winter Hearth, a limited winter event opening in the app on 5 December at 16:00 CET. For 37 days, a log cabin in the snowy pines is open to everyone: a place to come back to every day, with a gift under the tree, a story behind the advent doors and a fire that grows warmer as the winter goes on.
The Winter Hearth is free, and everything earned in it is permanent. It runs until 11 January at 16:00 CET.
A cabin to come home to
Everything happens in and around the cabin. On a first visit, the fire is lit: the First Ember. From then on, a new gift waits under the Christmas tree every day at 16:00, 37 in all. The wooden advent calendar holds 24 doors, each with a Winter Spark and the next line of a story about Pip, a robin who finds the cabin in the snow. Every Spark found fills the Snow Globe of Memories on the workbench.
The chalkboard by the door has three challenges every day and eight every week. Finish six of a week's eight and that week's Keepsake is yours.
Eight winter games
Short games in and around the cabin, opening through the winter:
- From 5 December. Snowball Toss, Trim the Tree, Skating and Snowflake Catch.
- From 15 December. The Light Puzzle and Cookie Baking.
- From 25 December. Sledding and Ice Fishing.
Snowflake Catch can be tried on the event page. The rest are played in the app.
28 rewards to keep
Every reward of The Winter Hearth stays: 21 for the profile, from app accents, avatar frames and titles to app icons and a medal, and 7 for stamps. They come from the daily gifts, the five weekly Keepsakes and the golden gifts for the milestones of the winter. A few are kept as a surprise until their moment.
Four moments
- 5 December. The cabin opens: the first gift, the first advent doors and four games.
- 15 December. Two new games: The Light Puzzle and Cookie Baking.
- 25 December, Midwinter. Something opens up in the cabin, and the last two games with it.
- 2 January, the Last Glow. The last days, with three free Embers to unwrap any gift that was missed.
